Play in Boston

My laptop is being fixed right now so here I am using my brother's. On Friday a couple friends and I went to Boston to see A Mid Summers Night's dream. It's a two and a half hour drive from home. It was a more semi-casual setting so I didn't get all dressed up. The Play was okay. Only the last part was funny though. But anyways here is the outfit that i wore. I didn't have anyone to photograph me so the pics are sectioned off lol. I hope you guys don't mind.

Party It up!

These are pictures from my friend's party on Saturday. I've been meaning to post these but with my laptop getting a virus it's been hard (I'm currently posting from the desktop). I really like this dress. The empire waist and Bubble hem really caught my eye. Fun and playful. My favorite part is the lightening of color on the dress: black to dark metallic purple to light gray and then silver. I think it's really playful. I'm kinda mad I wore my stupid pullover. What the hell! I took it off when I started dancing but I didn't get any picture without it :(.
I have a love hate relationship with dresses. I usually get so overwhelmed looking for dresses. But not this time. Why? you make ask and the simple answer is: I went to a store that I knew would have my size. Going to a store that I knew didn't carry my size but still trying to be hopeful usually frustrates the hell out of me. I found my dress in literally 20 minutes. I wanted it simple and this was perfect. I had so much fun at the party, the most fun I had in a while. What do you guys think?

The Double Standard in the "Fat Community:"

I'm been thinking about this a lot recently because it affects me. I vaguely inundated to it on my Twitter earlier. I personally think there's a double standard in the "fat community." For one I look at myself as a thick girl. People can interpret thick however they want. I have a big bust, 40C to be exact, paired with two very thick legs. I wear a size 10-14 in jeans and a size 16 in dresses, due to the fact that my bust and shoulders are on the broad side. I use to be all about dieting and losing weight until I started to realize this is the skin I'm in and I need to embrace it.

However not everyone has fully accepted me. Obviously I'm not thin. I'm not on the higher level of the Plus size chain but I am plus size. I know that when I walk into a store I have to head to the end of the racks where the sizes ascend. We see it even in the plus size modeling industry. Some people will get angry if models are too small. Yes if you're a plus size model you should be on the heavier side but plus size doesn't=Fat. There's many variations of Plus size. I definitely feel like I'm excluded. I feel like girls who are bigger exclude me because I'm not 'BIG ENOUGH'

It seems like I have to make a choice. People want me to choose a side. Skinny girls exclude me and thick girls say I'm not big enough. It's not their fault completely, society demands that you make a choice. You have to either side with the skinny girls or the fat girls. My decision is to side with the fat girls because they are who I identify most with. I have the burning thighs syndrome and, the chicos over the jeans. Yes they may say I'm not big enough but the numbers don't lie. In pictures it might seem like I'm thinner but that's only because I'm 5'8 and sometimes height is an illusion. I just want people to realize that there are are once again many variations of plus size and we shouldn't be excluding anyone. What do you think?

This is...Different

So I've just created a Blogspot and I have no idea why really. I already have a Tumblr account that I post on regularly but I decided to go on a self-imposed hiatus. It's kinda counter productive to create a Blogger account. I'm not sure what I'll post on here as of now. I like fashion but that's only a small part of who I am so this will probably be a blog about music, fashion, books, poetry, and my opinion on everything in between. So for now I'm going to have to figure this out.

So since I'm at it. My name is Tiffany, I love learning new things, diversity to me is beautiful, and I love a variety of different cultures.
